Vivienne Westwood Fall 1998 Corseted Velvet Dress

An absolutely incredible dress from Fall 1998 collection, made out of signature for Vivienne Westwood black velvet. The dress has an integrated corset, which can be hidden or showed by opening the dress with just one large orb-stamped button. The dress can be also worn fully opened as a corset-coat with a pair of stylish pants or a mini skirt. 

Size UK 12 or US 8 and appears to be true to size. 

The boned corset also has stretch mesh fabric and the velvet of the dress is also fairly stretchy. 

The measurements are taken flat lay on one side not stretch and stretched:

• Armpit to armpit -42-48 cm (16,5-18 in) 
• Waist - 35-40 cm (13,5-16 in)
• Hips - 50-56 cm (19,5-22 in)
• Length - 82 cm (32 in) 

The dress is in a very good vintage condition. However there is a patch of lifted fiber on the velvet on the chest on one side, which is visible under a certain angle and light, that said, this flaw isn’t in sight when you open the dress to expose the corset. Please see the last photos in the listing for close up and angles where the patch is visible. The flaw is reflected in the price of this extremely rare and collectible item.
