A museum-level piece from Thierry Mugler’s notoriously undocumented Fall/Winter 1994 collection. This collection is one of Mugler’s least photographed and least archived seasons, making surviving garments exceptionally hard to source. This sculptural black velvet mini dress with white contrast understructure appeared on the runway and embodies Mugler’s architectural playfulness and precision tailoring of the mid-90s.
The dress features:
- A dramatic petal-sculpted skirt with white contrast lining peeking through the curves
- Asymmetrical off-shoulder neckline characteristic of the runway styling
- Mugler’s signature hourglass corseted seaming through the bodice
- Dense black velvet with crisp structure and volume
A true collector’s piece, and one of the rarest Mugler silhouettes from the era.
Condition
Very good vintage condition.
A zipper has been replaced (clean and functional). Velvet and structure remain strong and vivid.
