An exceptionally rare skirt from John Galliano’s Fall 2000 collection for Christian Dior, capturing the provocative, fetishistic glamour that defined one of his most memorable Dior seasons. The Fall 2000 collection was built around extravagant combinations of leopard, lingerie, lace and denim, with the runway featuring similarly sensual layered constructions.
The skirt consists of a printed leopard denim upper layer with a dramatic asymmetrical construction and a concealed lingerie-inspired layer underneath. The two layers are connected through the skirt’s elaborate system of full-length zippers, allowing the wearer to unzip and open the denim panels to reveal the delicate gold-patterned lace mini skirt beneath.
The zippers are finished with distinctive Dior CD hardware, while the waistband features two adjustable leopard-print straps with gold-tone buckles, adding another unmistakable Galliano touch.
The result is quintessential Fall 2000 Dior: deliberately provocative, highly engineered and designed to transform as it is worn.

Condition
Excellent vintage condition.
The only noted imperfection is mild oxidation on the zipper heads/hardware, visible in the close-up photographs. Otherwise, the skirt remains in excellent condition for its age.
