An exceptionally rare Dior Fall 2000 dress by John Galliano, executed in his signature liquid silk jersey, a fabric innovation he developed and used almost exclusively during his tenure at Dior.
This sculptural, body-skimming design features draped rosettes at the shoulders and elegant gathering through the hips, creating a sensual, architectural silhouette. A closely related cut first appeared in the Dior Spring 1999 Couture Show, making this piece an important ready-to-wear evolution of Galliano’s couture language.
The silk jersey is extraordinarily fine, fluid, and highly elastic—molding to the body without restriction and returning to shape effortlessly. The effect is timeless, dramatic, and unmistakably Galliano.
